Things to consider if you are visiting London

  1. The first thing to keep in mind, which often upsets most Londoners, is that if you are walking on the underground, always keep to the right-hand side. Do not stop in the middle of the way and especially not on the left side of the stairs. Londoners are extremely busy people and are always in a hurry to get to work.
  2. Be prepared for rainy weather as it is quite common in London. Also, if you are used to hot weather, bring a warm coat as London can be very cold.
  3. If you plan to take the bus, note that London buses do not accept cash as payment. However, you can use a contactless debit card to pay instead of waiting in long queues to buy a ticket.
  4. There are several places you should visit, such as Piccadilly Circus, Green Park, London Bridge, Waterloo, and Camden.
  5. Foxes and mice are a common sight in London, and if you see a mouse in a cafe, restaurant, museum, or underground station, it is likely that the workers know about it. They are usually harmless, and Londoners have learned to live with them.
  6. If you go to a restaurant, you can always ask for a big jar of tap water. Most London restaurants will normally bring one when you sit down, but in case they don’t, you can always request one!
  7. London is full of beautiful parks, and you can enjoy a walk in any of them. Some parks have squirrels that come up to you for food and eat from your hand.
  8. If you are on a tight budget and want to relax in a pub, there is a big chain of pubs called Wetherspoons. They are affordable and can be found in almost every corner of the city.
