- The first thing to keep in mind, which often upsets most Londoners, is that if you are walking on the underground, always keep to the right-hand side. Do not stop in the middle of the way and especially not on the left side of the stairs. Londoners are extremely busy people and are always in a hurry to get to work.
- Be prepared for rainy weather as it is quite common in London. Also, if you are used to hot weather, bring a warm coat as London can be very cold.
- If you plan to take the bus, note that London buses do not accept cash as payment. However, you can use a contactless debit card to pay instead of waiting in long queues to buy a ticket.
- There are several places you should visit, such as Piccadilly Circus, Green Park, London Bridge, Waterloo, and Camden.
- Foxes and mice are a common sight in London, and if you see a mouse in a cafe, restaurant, museum, or underground station, it is likely that the workers know about it. They are usually harmless, and Londoners have learned to live with them.
- If you go to a restaurant, you can always ask for a big jar of tap water. Most London restaurants will normally bring one when you sit down, but in case they don’t, you can always request one!
- London is full of beautiful parks, and you can enjoy a walk in any of them. Some parks have squirrels that come up to you for food and eat from your hand.
- If you are on a tight budget and want to relax in a pub, there is a big chain of pubs called Wetherspoons. They are affordable and can be found in almost every corner of the city.
